have u met taxi drivers who tell u anything and everything when u hop onto their cabs??......i have and the last cabbie really said something that struck a chord in me......he said:"we shldnt be scared of the gov.....we should have more opposition members in parliament so that we wont let them boss us around and make some noise"....i was suddenly brought back to 5 and 10 years ago during the general elections......those were exciting times......even at a tender age at sec 2 i have made up my mind to follow workers' party......and i would verbally fight wif this guy called raj vikesh tiwari son of PKT (imagine the 'hatred' that i can remember his father's initials haha) bcos his dad is some high ranking soldier and he supports "pay and pay" (hint: this is not a supermarket!!!)......my sec 2 class will have remembered my crazy antics and it didnt matter if workers' party lost the cheng san grc......my family cheered when low thia kiang won hougang a tiny seat in a tiny country!!......he was a conversative teochew man (my mum side all teochew so must support la!!).....and hougang was a teochew village of a sense.....and my mum testifies that he will be at every funeral in hougang (pple might wonder if that is true but i believe he is that kind of man!!) another man i adore is mr chiam see tong!!.......oh he and his retro volkswagen beetle......which seems to be breaking down but will never stop running.......just like the great man himself......surprisingly raj, my arch enemy in sec 2 went to interview him and altho i wasnt in the group interviewing him, i went to catch a glimpse of him out of my own free time.......like a boy-crazy fan stalking lee min ho......so i saw him at some potong pasir void deck and he was a handsome old man.....much like george clooney......he was giving free advice to residents who were waiting to consult him regarding their issues......mr chiam was probably busy but he took time out to let my classmates interview him and i dun rem much but i know he is an acsian (again cos i am a true blue acsian must support la!!) and he said something like: "acs was a swim school, i didnt swim very well but i swim!"

these 2 men are still in parliament today......never giving up......still serving their communities......they have always been in my mind and heart........i salute these 2 brave men.......
